Canada delays Parental Sponsorship Intake for 2020

Applications for sponsoring your parents and grandparents for this year have been indefinitely delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Canada is still targeting to admit 21,000 immigrants under this program each year and we all have to remain patient until it is reopen.

The intake process is still being refined since 2011 as the popularity of this program attracts more applicants than there are resources to process them. This program used to be conducted via first come first serve, then through a lottery model and now through an Interest to Sponsor quota system.
