Current and future labour market in Canada remains bright for immigrants
As many baby boomer generation workers start to retire, immigrants will play a crucial role in maintaining a competitive and strong labour force. A report by the Royal Bank of Canada has collected many data reference points and they have shown that many more immigrants are employed rather than being not employed along with rises in their wages. Newcomers are able to integrate more quickly into the labour market and this is a very positive note for local businesses and the economy as a whole in Canada. Over 71.3 percent of newcomers are employed as of 2018 compared to 65.2 percent in 2006 based on this study. IRCC continues to successfully implement program changes to cater to the demands of local industries and the future labour market continues to be bright for new immigrants wanting to come to Canada.
