First three months of 2019 saw 500,000 jobs unfulfilled

Year over year Statistics Canada has acknowledged that job vacancies has continued to increase with at least 80 percent of these vacancies being full time positions. The ageing Canadian workforce along with many workers entering retirement has resulted in a massive number of job openings that are left unfilled due to lack of skilled workers. This is where Canada's economic programs come into play and its purpose is to help attract the most skilled workers to come to Canada.

Across Canada the increase in job vacancies come from the accommodation and food sector, healthcare and social assistance and manufacturing sectors. In British Columbia the sectors with increasing job vacancies were in transportation/warehousing and professional/scientific/technical services. If you are a Skilled Worker there is a demand for your skill sets and opportunities are available for you to continue or grow your career in Canada.
