Faster and forward looking processing times for specific immigration programs
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will be adopting a better and faster method of processing certain immigration applications for permanent residence. IRCC is introducing a projected time scale instead of a historical time scale and will be implemented for Sponsorship of Parents, Non Express Entry Provincial Nominees, Quebec Skilled Workers, Start-Up Visa and Humanitarian and Compassionate consideration cases.
Applicants under these categories will be provided with a projected processing time instead of basing their processing times on past applications in the same categories. This update is to ensure the most important immigration applications are processed and reflect accurate processing times for the applicant. IRCC's commitment to transparency and faster processing of immigration applications is a good sign that efforts are being made to alleviate unnecessary delays and backlogs.
