Immigration Plan for 2017
There has been momentum from the public sector pushing Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to focus on increasing immigration levels to fulfill immediate and near future job vacancies. The target number for new immigrants through the Federal Express Entry program is aiming for at 23 percent from the previous year.
Family sponsorship is also going to be a top priority as IRCC has increased the Parental Sponsorship quota and has issued instructions to their respective immigration offices overseas to process Spousal Sponsorships in a more expedite manner to clear the backlog.
The upcoming year we will see growth levels that will satisfy many parties that depend on immigration to Canada, whether they are large corporations that have labour shortages or family members seeking to re-unite with their loved ones.
