Substantial Increase to Immigration Levels

The immigration minister of Canada, John McCallum, is aiming to address the labour shortage in Canada due to our aging population by significantly increasing immigration levels. Through McCallum's three year immigration plan, he seeks to make dramatic changes to some of the immigration programs, such as Express Entry and an easier pathway for temporary workers and international students to apply for permanent residence. Canada is continuing to update its immigration processes to make our country attractive to new immigrants, who will bring with them their cultures, expertise and families to Canada.
