Immigrant owned businesses creating more jobs than Canadian born owners

Statistics Canada has released a paper study for the period 2003 - 2013 and determined that immigrant entrepreneurs who had started their own incorporated businesses accounted for at least 25% of net jobs during this period. This amounts to around 400,000 jobs that were created because of immigrants and this is in stark contrast to the general public perception that immigrants "steal jobs". Another statistic found was that immigrant incorporated companies were 1.3 times more to be high growth firms compared to local born Canadian owners.
